Engineering Survey

In Engineering Survey, a combination of high precision surveying instrument and digital technology are used to gather data for civil engineering and construction projects. Engineering Surveys are required in every stage of a construction project from gathering and charting existing geographical information, to marking out the position or layout of land or structures for construction and the survey of constructed structures on completion of work.

Examples of Engineering Survey are Topographical Survey and Setting-out Survey. Topographical survey is carried out to determine the positions and elevations of existing features on a plot of land. Setting-out Survey is carried out to ensure that the structure to be built is in the correct position with respect to design.
